Part 1—Preliminary
1 Name
This instrument is the Federal Financial Relations (Treasury) Delegations 2022.
2 Commencement
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Federal Financial Relations Act 2009.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
5 Definitions
Note: Paragraph 13(1)(b) of the Legislation Act 2003 has the effect that expressions have the same meaning in this instrument as in the Federal Financial Relations Act 2009 as in force from time to time.
In this instrument:
the Act means the Federal Financial Relations Act 2009.
Treasury means the Department of the Treasury.
Part 2—Delegations under the Act
6 Delegations relating to the payment arrangements of grants to the states
(1) Under subsection 23(1) of the Act, each person holding, occupying or performing the duties of each of the following offices or positions in the Treasury, is delegated the Minister’s powers under sections 17 and 19 of the Act:
(a) the Secretary;
(b) an SES employee.
Note: Section 17 of the Act is about making advance payments to the states and section 19 is about affixing amounts, and times of payment, of financial assistance to the states.
