EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
1. Authority for making the instrument. Faculties and Faculty Boards (Institute of Advanced Studies) Statute, s9.
2. Purpose and operation of the instrument. The Rules contain provisions relating to the membership and meetings of the Faculty and Faculty Board of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
3. Documents incorporated in the instrument by reference. None.
4. Consultation process. The existing 2005 Rules were repealed and remade to give effect to decisions of the University Council in relation to representation of general staff on University committees and collegial governance bodies. The revisions to membership were recommended by the Faculty Board of the Research School and approved by Council.
