ORDER UNDER SECTIONS 438M and 438O
Extension of suspension of Norfolk Island Regional Council
I, Nola Marino, Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories and Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, by order published in the Commonwealth Gazette on 5 February 2021, suspended the Norfolk Island Regional Council (NIRC) for a period of three months.
That order is due to expire at the start of 5 May 2021.
By this order, pursuant to section 438O of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) (NI) (the Act),
I extend the period that the NIRC is suspended by the order that commenced on 5 February 2021 for a further period of three months.
The suspension of NIRC, as extended by this order, is now due to expire at the start of 5 August 2021.
Further, pursuant to section 438M of the Act, I hereby extend the appointment of Mr Michael Colreavy as interim administrator of the NIRC for the period during which the suspension of the NIRC is extended by this order.
This order commences upon publication in the Gazette.
