EXEMPTION FROM DISPLAYING AN AVIATION
SECURITY IDENTIFICATION CARD IN A SECURE

I, RAYMOND THESEIRA, Acting Director, Transport Security Operations, Aviation and Maritime
Security Division, an authorised Delegate of the Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs, under
section 127 of the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004, make this notice under the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (the Regulations).
This notice is made under subregulation 3.08(3) of the Regulations.
I, hereby GIVE all persons that are ticket holders to the ‘Airside Adventure’ bus tour at Sydney Airport
an exemption from displaying an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) in the secure area of
Sydney Airport for the purposes of participating in the ‘Airside Adventure’ charity bus tour on 15
September 2018.
This notice is issued on condition that:
- Bus tour participants are to be screened and cleared in accordance with the relevant Aviation
Screening Notice prior to entry into the sterile area of Terminal 2.
2. Bus tour participants are to produce to Sydney Airport Corporation Limited airport staff, positioned
at Gate 47 (Terminal 2), a valid pre-purchased ticket for the bus tour including photographic
identification in order to be permitted entry into the airside area (including the security restricted
area) to participate in the tour.
3. Sydney Airport Corporation Limited airport staff are to reconcile each ticket holder against a list of
bus tour participants which is to be retained by Sydney Airport Corporation Limited staff.
4. Bus tour participants are to remain on board the bus at all times and are not to alight until
completion of the tour when the bus exits the airside area into the landside drop-off point.
The exemption operates from 9.30 am to 11.30 am on 15 September 2018.
