BOODEREE NATIONAL PARK

 

DETERMINATION OF A CAMPING AREA AND CAMPING SITES (BRISTOL POINT) 2025             

 

 

I, Peter Donohoe, Branch Head of the Booderee and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Parks Branch, Parks Australia Division, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, delegate of the Director of National Parks, acting pursuant to subregulations 12.28(3) and (4) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2025, DETERMINE that:

  1.      the area of the Commonwealth Reserve known as Booderee National Park, and described in Schedule 1 to this determination, is a camping area, to be known as Bristol Point Camping Area; and
  2.      the parts of the Bristol Point Camping Area identified in Schedule 2 to this determination are camping sites; and
  3.      the Bristol Point Camping Area, and the camping sites within, are subject to the conditions set out in Schedule 3 to this determination.

 

 

This determination commences on the day after it is signed.

DESCRIPTION OF CAMPING SITES

BRISTOL POINT CAMPING AREA - BOODEREE NATIONAL PARK

 

 

The areas of land within the Bristol Point Camping Area, being the areas indicated on the map below in blue, purple and orange boxes and by the boundaries and signage provided on the Bristol Point Camping Area as a ‘Site’ is a camping site:

  • Large Drive-In Sites are the camping sites marked on the map below as a Large Drive-In Sites, and by the boundaries and signage provided on the site. It includes camping sites 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
  • Standard Walk-In Sites are the camping sites marked on the map below as a Standard Walk -In Sites, and by the boundaries and signage provided on the site. It includes camping sites 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.
  • Large Walk-In Sites are the camping sites marked on the map below as a Large Walk-In Sites, and by the boundaries and signage provided on the site. It includes camping sites 1a, 1b, 1c and 9.

SCHEDULE 3

 

CONDITIONS OF CAMPING AREA

BRISTOL POINT CAMPING AREA - BOODEREE NATIONAL PARK

 

For the Bristol Point Camping Area:

  1.      The maximum number of tents and equipment that may be used on the one camping site at the same time is:
    1.      For a Standard Walk-In camping site:
      1.       One tent no larger than 3 metres by 4.5 metres; or
      2.       Two tents, each no larger than 2.5 metres by 2.5 meters.
    2.      For a Large Walk-In camping site:
      1.       Two tents, each no larger than 3 metres by 4.5 metres.
    3.       For a Large Drive-In camping site:
      1.       Two cars and two tents, each tent being no larger than 3 metres by 4.5 metres; or
      2.       Two cars and one tent no larger than 3 metres by 4.5 metres, and one caravan no longer than 4.5 metres in length; or
      3.       One large campervan no longer than 4.5 metres in length.
  2.      The maximum number of persons who may camp in a camping site at the same time is:
    1.      For Standard Walk-In camping sites – 5 people.
    2.      For Large Walk-In or Drive-In camping sites – 10 people.
  3.      The maximum number of camping sites in the Bristol Point Camping Area that may be occupied at the same time is 22 camping sites.
  4.      The maximum length of time a person may camp in the Bristol Point Camping Area at all times is 21 days.
  5.      The following camping sites are set aside for the specified kind of camping:
    1.      For Walk-In camping sites only tent camping is allowed and no vehicles are permitted on the camping sites at any time.
    2.      For a Drive-In camping sites both tents and vehicles are permitted on the camping sites.
  6.      Portable generators are not permitted in the Bristol Point Camping Area at all times.
  7.      The Bristol Point Camping Area is subject to the following restrictions on the use of trees or structures:
    1.      No tent pegs or clothes drying line can be attached to any trees in the Bristol Point Camping Area and any trees adjacent to the Bristol Point Camping Area.
