ORDER UNDER SECTIONS 255(1) AND 256(1)(a)
Dismissal of Norfolk Island Regional Council and Appointment of Administrator Proclamation 2021
Pursuant to subsection 255(1) of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) (NI) (the Act), I, Nola Marino, Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories and Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, following the holding of a public inquiry concerning the Norfolk Island Regional Council (NIRC), declare all civic offices in relation to NIRC to be vacant.
Further, pursuant to paragraph 256(1)(a) of the Act, I appoint Mr Michael Colreavy as administrator of the NIRC, for a period of three years from the commencement of this proclamation.
This proclamation commences upon publication in the Commonwealth Gazette.
