DETERMINATION OF CERTAIN POLLING BOOTH TIMES FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE
2024 TORRES STRAIT REGIONAL AUTHORITY ELECTION
I, JEFF POPE, acting Electoral Commissioner referred to in section 26 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918, exercising the power under subrules 74(2) and 74(4) of the Torres Strait Regional Authority Election Rules 2017, do hereby
(a) DETERMINE that the polling booths in the following wards and polling places are to be open on 30 November 2024 during the hours specified below:
i. Ngurapai and Muralag ward
Polling place on Horn Island
Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm
ii. Bamaga ward
Polling place in Bamaga
Hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm
iii. Port Kennedy ward
Polling place on Thursday Island
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
iv. TRAWQ ward
Polling place on Thursday Island
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
(b) DECLARE that this instrument takes effect upon execution.
