Determination 2018/01:
Departmental Secretaries - Classification Structure and Terms and Conditions
Made under Part II, Division 4 of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973
This Determination:
- These changes amend Table 2B of Part 2 of the Principal Determination, following the Tribunal’s consideration of amendments made to the Administrative Arrangements Order by the Governor-General on 20 December 2017.
- The Tribunal, consistent with its powers under section 13(3) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, has assigned the newly titled office of Secretary Department of Home Affairs to Level 1 of the classification structure. This recognises the expansion of functions and responsibilities of the office.
- The Determination also changes departmental titles for the following offices:
- the Department of Employment has been renamed the Department of Jobs and Small Business;
- the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development has been renamed the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities; and
- the Department of Immigration and Border Protection has been renamed the Department of Home Affairs.
Authority
1.1 This Determination is issued pursuant to Division 4 of Part II of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.
Date of Effect
1.2 This Determination commences on 1 March 2018.
PART 2 - SECRETARIES
2.1 In this part, Determination Number 06 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.
2.2 Level 1 of Table 2B of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “Home Affairs” after “Health”.
2.2 Level 2 of Table 2B of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the entries with the following:
“Agriculture and Water Resources; Attorney-General’s; Communications and the Arts; Education and Training; Jobs and Small Business; Environment and Energy; Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities; Veterans’ Affairs”
