Designation of wetlands for inclusion in the List of Wetlands of International Importance kept under the Ramsar Convention.
I, GREGORY JAMES MANNING, Assistant Secretary, Aquatic Systems Policy Branch, delegate for the Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, hereby give notice, pursuant to section 327(1)(a) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth), of the designation on 21 December 2012 of the following wetland for inclusion in the List of Wetlands of International Importance kept under the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat, done at Ramsar on 2 February 1971 (Ramsar Convention):
66. Piccaninnie Ponds Karst Wetlands
The Piccaninnie Ponds Karst Wetlands Ramsar site comprises all of the Piccaninnie Ponds Conservation Park (Park ID 62). The Ramsar site includes: Sections 598, 692, 694 and 695 of Hundred of Caroline; and Allotments 1 and 2 (Deposited Plan 31601), 50, 51 and 52 (Deposited Plan 83130) and 100, 101 and 102 (Deposited Plan 76229).
The Piccaninnie Ponds Karst Wetlands Ramsar site is identified in the maps at Annex A.
