DESIGNATION UNDER THE PAYMENT SYSTEMS (REGULATION) ACT 1998
Designation No 1 of 2015
The Reserve Bank of Australia designates as a payment system pursuant to section 11(1) of the Payment Systems (Regulation) Act 1998 the American Express Companion Card payment system operated within Australia.
In this designation, “American Express Companion Card” is any credit card bearing the name “American Express” and/or any logo, service mark, trade mark, trade name, tag line or other proprietary designation owned by American Express Company or any related entity of American Express Company that is issued by an entity other than American Express Australia Limited or a related body corporate of American Express Australia Limited.
