1  Name

This instrument is the Defence (Individual benefits) Determination (No. 6) 2025.

2  Commencement

1. Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

 Note: this table relates only to the provisions of this instrument as originally made. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this instrument.

2. Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this instrument. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this instrument.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.

4  Purpose

The purpose of this Determination is to set the rate of higher duties allowance payable to a member when undertaking the duties of a senior officer position.

5  Application

This Determination applies to the member who holds employee identification number 8083345 from 11 April 2025.

6  Definitions

In this Determination the following apply.

Defence Determination means Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, as in from time to time.

7  Rate of higher duties allowance

Despite section 4.1.16 of the Defence Determination, the rate of higher duties allowance payable to the member when performing the duties usually undertaken by a person occupying the position with position number 00621386 is the difference between the following.

1.        The salary payable to the member.
2.        $525,934.

Note:  The member may be eligible for higher duties allowance from time to time under Chapter 4 Part 1 of the Defence Determination.

8  Revocation

This Determination is revoked on 11 April 2026.
