EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
STATUTORY RULES 1982 NO. 56
ISSUED BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE MINISTER FOR DEFENCE
AMENDMENT OF THE DEFENCE FORCE (SALARIES) REGULATIONS
Section 12 of the Defence Amendment Act 1979 provides that the Minister may make interim determinations amending or repealing regulations. The Act also deems such interim determinations to be Statutory Rules.
Regulation 8 of the Defence Force (Salaries) Regulations covers the general rates of salary payable to other rank members.
These Statutory Rules insert in regulation 8 provisions dealing with the service of a member in the rank of Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Warrant Officer or equivalent rank, where the member is promoted to or enlisted with that rank.
