REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1975, THE NAVAL

DEFENCE ACT 1910-1975 AND THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1975.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1975, the Naval Defence Act 1910-1975 and the Air Force Act 1923-1975.

Amendments of the Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations†

Pay of certain officers.

1. Regulation 4 of the Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations is amended by omitting the table and substituting the following table:—

Reduction in respect of short service on a day.

2. Regulation 10 of the Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the word “ Where ” and substituting the words “ Subject to sub-regulation (2), where ”; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“ (2) Where the amount payable to a member in respect of reserve service rendered by him on a day would, but for this sub-regulation, include a fraction of a cent, that fraction shall—

(a) where it is not less than one-half of a cent—be deemed to be a whole cent; and

(b) where it is less than one-half of a cent—be disregarded.”.

Schedules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 6 and 7.

3. Schedules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 to the Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations are repealed and the following Schedules substituted:—

Application.

4. The amendments of the Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations effected by regulations 1 and 3 apply to and in relation to—

(a) members of the Navy and of the Army—as if those amendments had come into operation on 20 February 1976; and

(b) members of the Air Force—as if those amendments had come into operation on 19 February 1976.
