This instrument is the Defence Determination 2016/19 (Suspension of Special Location Allowance) (Middle East Region) Instrument (No. 1) 2026.
2 Commencement
1. Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Suspension of special location allowance
The payment of special location allowance under section 16.8.3 of Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, is suspended from 6 May 2026 for all of the following locations.
a. Israel.
b. Jordan.
c. Kuwait.
d. Lebanon.
e. Qatar.
f. Saudi Arabia.
g. United Arab Emirates.
4 Repeal
This instrument is repealed 7 July 2026.
