DECLARATION OF AN APPROVED WILDLIFE TRADE OPERATION

1. I, Paul Murphy, Assistant Secretary, Wildlife Trade and Biosecurity Branch: 

(a)          being satisfied as to the matters set out in section 303FN of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) (EPBC Act),

declare that the Wildlife Trade Operation for the commercial export of naturally moulted bird feathers (the Plan), is an approved wildlife trade operation for the purposes of section 303FN of the EPBC Act.

2. The Plan is subject to the declaration in paragraph 1 only:

(a)          for a period of three years from the date of gazettal;

(b)          to the extent that the Plan relates to specimens from the following species from suppliers approved by the Department:

Alisterus scapularis

Eolophus roseicapilla

Amazona autumnalis

Poicephalus gulielmi

Aprosmictus erythropterus

Lophochroa (Cacatua) leadbeateri

Amazona lilacina

Poicephalus meyeri

Barnardius zonarius zonarius

Nymphicus hollandicus

Amazona ochrocephala

Poicephalus rufiventris

Cacatua galerita

Platycercus elegans

Amazona ochrocephala panamensis

Poicephalus senegalus

Callocephalon fimbriatum

Platycercus eximius

Ara ararauna

Psittacus timneh

Calyptorhynchus banksii banksii

Platycercus flaveolus

Ara chloropterus

Primolius auricollis

Calyptorhynchus banksii macrorhynchus

Platycercus icterotis

Ara severus

Psittacula alexandri

(c)          if the collection of the bird feathers referred to in the plan is carried out in accordance with the plan.

3. An annual report must be submitted to Wildlife Trade Assessments section, Department of the Environment by 30 June each year, and detail

a)      The number of feathers from each species from each supplier collected in the previous 12 months

b)      The number of feathers from each species from each supplier exported in the previous 12 months
