An Act to amend the Customs Tariff Act 1995, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1  Short title

  This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment (Commonwealth Games) Act 2005.

2  Commencement

  This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3  Schedule(s)

  Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.


Schedule 1—Amendments

 

Customs Tariff Act 1995

1  Schedule 4 (item 64)

Repeal the item, substitute:

 

64

Goods, as prescribed by bylaw, that are:

(a) imported on or after 1 January 2006 and before 1 July 2006 by, or on behalf of, nonAustralian Commonwealth Games Family members, as defined by bylaw, for use in, or for purposes related to, the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games; and

(b) entered for home consumption on or after 1 January 2006 and before 1 July 2006
