CORAL SEA MARINE PARK

MAGDELAINE CAY SOUTH PROHIBITION OF ENTRY

I, Ricky Archer, the Director of National Parks, under subregulation 12.23(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2025, PROHIBIT entry to Magdelaine Cay South in the Coral Sea Marine Park, being the area described in Schedule 1, by all persons at all times, except for:

• officers, servants and agents of the Commonwealth of Australia and its authorities acting in the course of their duties; and
• persons authorised by the Director of National Parks.

This Prohibition notice commences the day after it is registered and remains in effect until it is revoked or amended.

SCHEDULE 1

Prohibited Area

The entirety of the Magdelaine Cay South being the area defined by eight geographic coordinate points in decimal degrees, forming a closed polygonal boundary within the Coral Sea region. The boundary follows straight lines connecting each point in sequential order.

Note: Geographic coordinates are expressed in terms of the Geocentric Datum of Australia 1994 (GDA94) as described in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette GN 35 of 6 September 1995.
