VARIATION - DECEMBER 2001

 

The Australian Broadcasting Authority hereby varies the licence area plan (LAP) for community radio in the Bordertown area of South Australia, determined on 27 August 1996, under subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

 

The variation comprises the addition of four technical specifications for the community radio broadcasting service designated by the service licence numbers SL10373 and a variation of the existing technical specification, as follows:

The area to which these commercial radio broadcasting service are to be available is described at Attachment 1.1 to this instrument.

Overview

The Broadcasting Services Act 1992 was enacted by the Australian Parliament to establish a regulatory framework for broadcasting services in Australia, addressing the need for comprehensive legislation to govern broadcasting activities across the country. The Act aims to ensure the efficient and effective use of the radio spectrum while promoting diversity and quality in broadcasting content. The Australian Broadcasting Authority, now known as the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), is the body responsible for administering this Act.
