STATUTORY RULES.

1964. No. 159.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE EDUCATION ACT 1945-1959.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Education Act 1945-1959.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations,

Amount of allowance—ordinary scholarships.

1. Regulation 13 of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a)of sub-regulation (2.) the words Two hundred and forty-seven pounds and inserting in their stead the words Two hundred and sixty pounds;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b)of sub-regulation (2.) the words Three hundred and eighty-three pounds ten shillings and inserting in their stead the words Three hundred and ninety-six pounds ten shillings;

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3a.) the words One thousand seven hundred pounds (twice occurring) and inserting in their stead the words Two thousand pounds; and

(d) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3a.) the words Eight hundred and fifty pounds and inserting in their stead the words One thousand pounds.

Amount of allowance—mature age scholarships.

2. Regulation 14 of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words Three hundred and eighty-three pounds ten shillings and inserting in their stead the words Three hundred and ninety-six pounds ten shillings; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words One pound fourteen shillings and inserting in their stead the words One pound nineteen shillings.

Application of amendments.

3. The amendments made by these Regulations apply in respect of the year commencing on the first day of January, 1965, and all subsequent years.
