REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1902.
I, THE GOVERNOR‑GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Public Service. Act 1902, to come into operation forthwith.

Salary of an Officer upon Transfer—General Division.
Public Service Regulation 102 is amended to read as follows :—
" 102. In the case of an officer transferred or promoted to any office or grade in the General Division, his relative seniority with the officers employed in such office or grade shall be determined by the salary paid to him, and by the length of time during which he has received such salary. The salary to be paid to such officer upon transfer or promotion shall be not less than that received immediately prior to his removal, provided that, if the Commissioner so direct, it shall not exceed the maximum rate for his new office or grade.''
Grading of Line‑Repairers.
Public Service Regulation 104 is amended to provide for the grading of the position of Line‑Repairer, as under :—

Travelling Allowances.
Public Service Regulation 149 is amended to read as follows :—
149. The following shall be the scale of travelling allowances :—

Provided, however, that the travelling allowances payable to Officers of the Clerical, Professional, and General Divisions of the Public Service stationed in Western Australia shall be at the following rates : —

with an additional allowance of 25 per cent. on these rates when an officer is travelling in the gold‑fields districts, and a deduction of 25 per cent. when an officer is stationed for any period in excess of ten days in any one place.
Provided, further, that the minimum travelling allowance to officers acting as Members of Boards of Inquiry and Appeal shall be at the rate of 12s. per diem, excepting in the cases of such officers travelling in Western Australia, where the minimum allowance shall be at the rate of 12s. 6d. per diem.
