REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC
SERVICE ACT 1922-1948.*
THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1948, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.†
Salaries of Officers of Third Division.
1. Regulation 105 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting Table A and Table B in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in their stead the following Tables:—

2. Regulation 112a of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the figures “366” and inserting in their stead the figures “378”; and
(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (6.) the figures “366” and inserting in their stead the figures “378”.
The Second Schedule.
3. The Second Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from the conditions set forth opposite to the designation of the office of “Analyst, Junior” the figures “318” and inserting in their stead the figures “342”;
(b) by omitting from the conditions set forth opposite to the designation of the office of “Architect, Cadet” the figures “318” and inserting in their stead the figures “342”;
(c) by omitting the designation of the office of “Assistant Examiner (Patent Office), £162–£366” and the conditions set forth opposite to the designation of that office;
(d) by omitting from the conditions set forth opposite to the designation of the office of “Biochemist, Cadet” the figures “318” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the figures “342”;
(e) by omitting the designation of the office of “Chemist, Grade 1, £318–£522, Postmaster-General's Department” and inserting in its stead the designation of the office of “Chemist, Grade 1, £342–£522, Postmaster-General's Department”;

(e) by omitting the figures “304” opposite to the designation of the office of “Librarian” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the figures “352”; and
(f) by omitting the figures “304” opposite to the designation of the office of “Clerk” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the figures “316”.
The Fourth Schedule.
5.—(1.) The Fourth Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting the words and figures—

and
(b) by inserting in the column headed “Remarks” opposite the designation of the office of “Assistant, Grade 2,” after the words “Prime Minister's Department;”, the words and figures “Senior Assistant (£256–£272), Meteorological Branch, Department of the Interior;”.
(2.) Payments of salary to the occupant of the office of Senior Assistant, Meteorological Branch, Department of the Interior on and after the second day of June, 1949, shall be adjusted to accord with the rates specified in the Fourth Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations as amended by sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation.
Commencement
6. Regulations 1, 2, 3 and 4 of these Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the seventh day of October, 1948.
