REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1937.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1937, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.†

Salaries of Officers of the Second Division.

1. Regulation 104 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from the table the figures “876” and “1,000” shown opposite the office of “Deputy Commissioner, Taxation Branch, South Australia” and inserting in their stead the figures “828” and “900”, respectively.

(b) by inserting in the table, under the office of “Deputy Commissioner of Pensions—Queensland”, the following particulars:—

(c) by omitting from the table the office of “Finance Officer (Air Force Head-quarters)” and inserting in its stead the office “Chief Finance Officer (Air Services)”; and

(d) by omitting from the table the figures “876” and “1,000” shown opposite the office of “Chief Inspector (Wireless)” and inserting in their stead the figures “950” and “1,100”, respectively.

Salaries of officers of Third Division.

2. Regulation 105 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (e) of sub-regulation (3) the figures “246” and “258” and inserting in their stead the figures “252” and “270”, respectively.

Conditions of advancement in certain positions.

3. Regulation 105A of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the words and figures “Clerk (Legal), £306-£492” and inserting in their stead the words and figures “Clerk (Legal), £306-£510”.

Salaries of Female officers.

4. Regulation 105B of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the words, symbols and figures:—

“Clerk.. Engineering (Victoria) „ „ 96 256 (1 position)”.

Allowances in addition to salary.

5. Regulation 105C of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1 ) the words “and Hobart, Tasmania,”;

(b) by omitting from that sub-regulation the words “and Launceston, Tasmania,”.

Salaries of officers of the Fourth Division.

6. Regulation 106 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from, the table the office of “Assistant” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(b) by omitting from the table the words “and Victoria” shown in the column headed “Department” opposite the office of “Assistant (Drafting)” and inserting in their stead the words “, Victoria and South Australia”;

(c) by inserting in the table, after the office of “Assistant (Drafting)”, the following office and particulars:—

(d) by omitting from the table the office of “Assistant (Inquiries, &c.)” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(e) by omitting from the table the office of “Assistant (Licences, &c), Grade 3” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(f) by omitting from the table the office of “Assistant (Patrol)” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(g) by omitting from the table the offices of “Assistant (Records), Prime Minister’s Department and Department of Defence, Queensland” and the particulars shown opposite those offices;

(h) by omitting from the table the office of “Assistant (Records and Recruiting)” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(i) by omitting from the table the office of “Assistant (Sales)” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(j) by inserting in the table, after the office of “Assistant (Records, &c.), Department of Defence, Central Staff”, the following office and particulars:—

(k) by omitting from the table the office of “Assistant, (Timekeeping, &c.)” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(l) by inserting in the table, after the office of “Assistant Supervisor (Publicity)”, the following office and particulars:—

(m) by omitting from the table the office of “Compositor-Reader” and the particulars shown opposite that office;

(n) by omitting from the table the words “Western Australia” shown in the column headed “Department” opposite the office of “Custodian (Buildings)” and inserting in their stead the words “South Australia and Western Australia”;

(o) by inserting in the table, after the office, of “Foreman, Department of the Treasury”, the following office and particulars:—

(p) by inserting in the table, after the office of “Inquiry Officer, Department of Trade and Customs, Queensland”, the following office and particulars:—

(q) by inserting in the table, after the office of “Inquiry Officer (Telegraph), Postmaster-General’s Department, Queensland”, the following office and particulars:—

(u) by omitting from the table the figures “282” and “306” shown opposite the office of “Overseer (Delivery), Postmaster-General’s Department, Western Australia” and inserting in their stead the figures “294” and “318”, respectively;

(v) by omitting from the table the offices of “Overseer (Delivery), Senior, Postmaster-General’s Department, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland” and the particulars shown opposite those offices and inserting in their stead the following:—
