ELIZABETH THE SECOND, by the Grace of God Queen of Australia and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth: To the Honourable Alex Chernov, Companion of the Order of Australia, Queens Council, Governor of the State of Victoria, Greeting:
WE DO, by this Our Commission under Our Sign Manual and the Great Seal of Australia, appoint you, the Honourable Alex Chernov, in the event of the absence out of Australia, or the death, incapacity or removal, of Our Governor‑General of the Commonwealth of Australia for the time being, or in the event of Our Governor‑General having absented himself temporarily from office for any reason, to administer the Government of the Commonwealth, upon a request in that behalf being made to you in accordance with Our Letters Patent as amended relating to the office of Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.
AND WE DO hereby declare that this Our present Commission shall remain in force during Our pleasure.
