Varying the Threat Abatement Plan 2006 for the incidental catch (or bycatch) of seabirds during oceanic longline fishing operations
The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities is seeking written comment from interested groups and individuals on the consultation paper on varying the Threat Abatement Plan 2006 for the incidental catch (or bycatch) of seabirds during oceanic longline fishing operations.
The proposed variation addresses the key threatening process incidental catch (or bycatch) of seabirds during oceanic longline fishing operations listed under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The proposed variation describes the research, management and other actions to reduce the impacts of oceanic longline fishing operations upon seabirds in Australian waters.

The three-month public comment period will close on 31 October 2013.
