REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1968.*
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1968.

Amendments of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations†
Definitions.
1. Regulation 3 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from the definition of “cadet” the words “a Cadet Sub-Lieutenant” and inserting in their stead the words “a Cadet Officer”;
and
(b) by adding at the end of the definition of “officer” the words “or a Cadet Officer”.
Ranks.
2. After regulation 11 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—
“11a. The ranks of Cadets in order of seniority, commencing with the most junior rank, are as follows:—
(a) Recruit;
(b) Cadet Ordinary Seaman;
(c) Cadet Able Seaman;
(d) Cadet Leading Seaman;
(e) Cadet Petty Officer; and
(f) Cadet Officer.”.
Appointment of officers and instructors.
3. Regulation 12 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words—
“Cadet Sub-Lieutenant;”.
Uniforms.
4. Regulations 19 to 21 (inclusive) of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations are repealed and the following regulation inserted in their stead:—
“19. The uniforms to be worn by members of the Corps, and the circumstances in which a member is required or permitted to wear uniform, are as approved by the Naval Board.”.

Efficiency allowance.
5. Regulation 30 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “a Cadet Sub-Lieutenant” and inserting in their stead the words “a Cadet Officer”.
Annual special allowance.
6.—(1.) Regulation 31 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulations:—
“(1.) Subject to the next succeeding sub-regulation, where—
(a) a member holding a rank or rating specified in the following table has performed his duties efficiently during the whole of a financial year; and
(b) the member has attended home training drills or parades in respect of which he is not entitled to pay under the next succeeding regulation for periods aggregating not less than sixty hours,
the member is entitled to be paid, as a special allowance, the amount set out in the following table in relation to the rank or rating that he holds and the kind of unit in which he has performed those duties:—

“(1a.) Where a member who would, but for this sub-regulation, be entitled to be paid a special allowance under the last preceding sub-regulation in respect of a financial year has held two or more ranks or ratings or a rank and a rating during that financial year or has performed his duties in a unit formed in a school for part of the financial year and a unit formed elsewhere for the remainder of the financial year, the member is entitled to be paid, as a special allowance, an amount not exceeding the amount that he would, but for this sub-regulation, be entitled to be paid under the last preceding sub-regulation, determined by the Director.”.
(2.) Regulation 31 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “an officer or instructor” and inserting in their stead the words “a member”.
Officers’ and instructors’ pay for continuous training.
7. Regulation 32 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “(excepting Cadet Sub-Lieutenants)”.
Limit on payment to member of Citizen Naval Forces.
8. Regulation 34 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting the words “Naval Financial (Citizen Forces) Regulations” and inserting in their stead the words “Naval Financial Regulations”.
Messing allowance to Cadet Officer.
9 Regulation 35 of the Australian Sea Cadet Corps Regulations is amended by omitting the words “Sea Cadet Sub-Lieutenant” and inserting in their stead the words “Cadet Officer”.
