1. Authority for making the instrument. Australian National University Academic Board Statute 2012, section 11.
2. Purpose and operation of the instrument. The Rules provide for the establishment, constitution, functions and powers of committees and subcommittees.

4. Consultation process. The Council of the University considered and approved the Rules on 27 July 2012.
