REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1918.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1918, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of the Australian Military Regulations 1916.
1. Sub-regulation (3) of regulation 411 of the Australian Military Regulations 1916 is repealed and the following sub-regulation made in lieu thereof:—
“(3) In addition to the public holidays prescribed in sub-regulation (1) of this regulation the following public holidays, or any holidays prescribed under the law of any State to be observed in lieu thereof, in that State, may be observed in the military offices of the Commonwealth in the localities under which they are respectively shown:—
Queensland.
Brisbane. | Other Centres. |

Eight Hours Day. | Eight Hours Day. |
Exhibition Day. | St. George’s Day. |

2. Sub-regulation (5) of regulation 411 of the Australian Military Regulations 1916 is amended by deleting the following words:—
“(5) But no day or half-day in lieu shall be granted for attendance during any holiday or half-holiday observed in pursuance of sub-regulation (3) of this regulation unless—
(a) the holiday or half-holiday (as the case may be) is a public holiday or half-holiday throughout the State; and
(b) the Minister directs that grant of a day or half-day in lieu shall be made for attendance on such holiday or half-holiday.”
