This instrument is the AusCheck (Background Checks—Asian Football Confederation Women’s Asian Cup 2026) Declaration 2025.
2 Commencement
This instrument commences on the day after registration.
3 Authority
This instrument is made under section 21F of the AusCheck Regulations 2017.
4 Definitions
Note: The expression background check is defined in section 5 of the Act. A number of other expressions used in this instrument are defined in section 4 of the Regulations, including the following:
(a) MNE;
(b) MNE accreditation.
In this instrument:
Act means the AusCheck Act 2007.
Women’s Asian Cup MNE means the Asian Football Confederation Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
Regulations means the AusCheck Regulations 2017.
5 Background checks to be conducted for MNE accreditation
For the purpose of paragraph 21F(a) of the Regulations, the background check of individuals in connection with MNE accreditation for the Women’s Asian Cup MNE must include assessment of information relating to the matters mentioned in paragraphs 5(a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act.
6 Method of assessment relating to verifying the identity of an individual
For the purpose of paragraph 21F(b) of the Regulations, the assessment of information relating to the identity of the individual (as the matter mentioned in paragraph 5(d) of the Act) must consist of electronic identity verification checks, as prescribed in subparagraph 21F(b)(i) of the Regulations.
