Appropriation Act (No. 4) 1974-75

AN ACT
To appropriate a sum out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to the sum appropriated by the Appropriation Act (No. 2) 1974-75 for certain expenditure in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1975.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, the Senate and the House of Representatives of Australia, as follows:—
Short title.
1. This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act (No. 4) 1974–75.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Issue and application of $288,572,000.
3. The Treasurer may issue out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund and apply for the services specified in the Schedule, in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1975, the sum of $288,572,000.
Appropriation.
4. The sum authorized by this Act to be issued out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund is appropriated, and shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from 1 July 1974, for the services expressed in the Schedule in respect of the financial year that commenced on that date.

Additional grant of $30,000,000 for roads.
5. (1) Subject to any direction given under section 11 of the National Roads Act 1974 after the commencement of this Act, the National Roads Act 1974 has effect after the commencement of this Act as if—
(a) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 1 to that Act the figures set out in column 2 of the table at the foot of this subsection;
(b) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 2 to that Act the figures set out in column 3 of the table at the foot of this subsection; and
(c) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 3 to that Act the figures set out in column 4 of the table at the foot of this subsection.

(2) The Roads Grants Act 1974 has effect as if—
(a) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 1 to that Act the figures set out in column 2 of the table at the foot of this subsection;
(b) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 2 to that Act the figures set out in column 3 of the table at the foot of this subsection;
(c) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 3 to that Act the figures set out in column 4 of the table at the foot of this subsection;
(d) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 4 to that Act the figures set out in column 5 of the table at the foot of this subsection;
(e) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 5 to that Act the figures set out in column 6 of the table at the foot of this subsection; and
(f) there were substituted for the figures set out in the column headed "Year commencing 1 July 1974" in Schedule 6 to that Act the figures set out in column 7 of the table at the foot of this subsection.

(3) Section 12 of the National Roads Act 1974 does not apply to payments under that Act to the extent that those payments are made out of such of the moneys appropriated by this Act as are referred to in Sub-division 6 of Division 963 in the Schedule to this Act, and section 14 of the Roads Grants Act 1974 does not apply to payments under that Act to the extent that those payments are made out of such of the moneys appropriated by this Act as are referred to in Sub-division 7 of Division 963 in the Schedule to this Act.
Payments to States.
6. Payments to a State out of such of the moneys appropriated by this Act as are specified in items 06 and 09 of Division 967 shall be made on such terms and conditions, and in such amounts and at such times, as the Treasurer determines.
