Amendment of Statement of Principles

concerning

 

CAROTID ARTERIAL DISEASE

 

 

Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

 

  1. The Repatriation Medical Authority amends, under subsection 196B(2) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (the Act), Instrument No.9 of 2003 by:

 

  1. in paragraph 8, deleting the definition of “trauma to the site of the aneurysm” and inserting in its place the following definition:

 

‘trauma to the affected segment of the artery’ means

(i)                 a penetrating injury to the affected segment of the artery, or

(ii)              a blunt injury resulting in soft tissue injury adjacent to the affected segment of the artery.

 

2. The amendments made by this instrument apply to all matters to which Instrument No.9 of 2003 and section 120A of the Act apply.
