Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999

 

Amendment of List of Exempt Native Specimens

 

 

I, DAVID ALISTAIR KEMP, Minister for the Environment and Heritage, pursuant to subsection 303DC(1) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, hereby amend the list of exempt native specimens established under section 303DB of the Act by including in the list the following specimens:

 

  • Western Rock Lobster (Panulirus cygnus)
  • Octopus (Octopus species)
  • Snow crab (Chacean bicolor)
  • Spiny (champagne) crab (Hypothalassia acerba)
  • Giant crab (Pseudocarcinus gigas)

 

with a notation that inclusion of the specimens in the list is subject to the following restrictions or conditions:

 

  • the specimens must have been taken in accordance with the Western Rock Lobster Limited Entry Notice 1993  in force under the Fish Resources Management Act 1994 (Western Australia); and

 

  • inclusion of the specimens in the list will expire five years after the date of gazettal of this instrument.
