Air Navigation Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Navigation Act 1920.

Commencement
1. (1) Regulation 2 and sub-regulation 3 (1) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 1980.
(2) Sub-regulation 3 (2) shall come into operation on 1 May 1981.
Fees and Charges
2. Regulation 329 of the Air Navigation Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (3) all the words from and including “, the person” to and including “with this regulation,” and substituting “or the person did not take the examination in respect of which the amount was paid,”; and
(b) by omitting sub-regulations (4), (5), (6) and (7).
Schedule
3. (1) The Schedule to the Air Navigation Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting item 1;
(b) by omitting from item 2—
“Grant (whether by way of issue or renewal)”
and substituting—
“Issue”;
(c) by omitting items 3 and 4;
(d) by omitting items 7 to 14 (inclusive) and substituting the following items:
“7 | Issue of an aircraft maintenance engineer licence | 6.00 |
“8 | Examination for the purpose of qualifying for the issue of a commercial pilot licence- |

| (a) in the subject known as Principles of Flight | 0.75 |
| (b) in the subject known as Aeroplane Performance and Operation | 0.75 |
| (c) in the subject known as Engines, Systems and Instrumentation | 0.75 |
| (d) in the subject known as Air Navigation and Flight Planning | 0.75 |
| (e) in the subject known as Meteorology | 0.75 |
“9 | Examination for the purpose of qualifying for the issue of a senior commercial pilot licence or an airline transport pilot licence- |
|
| (a) in the subject known as Air Navigation | 2.10 |
| (b) in the subject known as Meteorology | 2.10 |
| (c) in the subject known as Flight Planning | 2.10”; |
and
(e) by omitting items 18, 19 and 38.
(2) The Schedule to the Air Navigation Regulations is amended by inserting after item 2 the following items:
“3 | Issue of a private pilot licence | 10.00 |
“3A | Issue of a commercial pilot licence | 20.00 |
“3B | Issue of a senior commercial pilot licence | 30.00 |
“3C | Issue of a second-class airline transport pilot licence | 40.00 |
“3D | Issue of a first-class airline transport pilot licence | 50.00 |
“3E | Issue of a flight engineer licence | 10.00 |
“3F | Issue of a flight navigator licence | 10.00 |
“4 | Renewal of a pilot licence (not being a student pilot licence), being the first renewal of the licence that occurs after | 10.00 |
“4A | Renewal of a flight engineer licence, being the first renewal of the licence that occurs after | 10.00 |
“4B | Renewal of a flight navigator licence, being the first renewal of the licence that occurs after | 10.00 |
“4C | Renewal of an aircraft maintenance engineer licence, being the first renewal of the licence that occurs after | 6.00”. |
