AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/X-TS/4 Engine Controls 8/2000

Applicability: Model X-TS 150 and 150B serial number 001 to 021 inclusive.

Requirement: Modify the throttle torque tube and throttle arm in accordance with the procedures specified in Eagle Service Bulletin 1067 Revision 1 dated 21 October 1999.

Note: Aircraft that have been modified in accordance with the original issue of this SB require no further action and can be certified as complying with this Directive.

Compliance: At next scheduled 100 hourly inspection or by 10 August 2001, whichever occurs first.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 August 2000.

Background:  The manufacturer has advised that under strength rivets in the co-pilots throttle control could fail if a “conflict” situation between pilots occurs.
