SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Aerostar (Piper/Ted Smith) 600 and 700 Series Aeroplanes

AD/TSA-600/48 Oil Scavenge Pumps 7/2003

Applicability: Model PA-60-601, PA-60-601P, PA-60-602P, and PA-60-700P aeroplanes.

Requirement: 1. Unless previously accomplished replace any oil scavenge pumps listed in Table 1 of this Directive with an Aerostar scavenge pump Part Number (P/N) 300110- 001 or 300110-002 or FAA approved equivalent part number, in accordance with the Instructions paragraph of Aerostar Mandatory Service Bulletin SB600-131A.

2. Do not install any scavenge pumps as listed in Table 1 of this directive.

Compliance: 1. Within 50 flight hours from the effective date of this directive.

2. From the effective date of this directive.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 July 2003.

Background: Failure of the scavenge pump could lead to a loss of engine power and/or engine failure.
