AD/TPE 331/51

Amdt 1

Fuel Manifold Assemblies  6/96 DM

Applicability: TPE 331-1,2,3U,5,6 & 14 models as specified in the requirement document.

Requirement: Check and replace, if necessary, the fuel manifold assembly in accordance with AlliedSignal Aerospace Alert Service Bulletin TPE331-A73-7023 or TPE331-A73- 0242 as applicable.

Note: AD/TPE331/43 refers for TPE331-8,10,11 and 12 series engines.

Compliance: Within 50 hours time in service (TIS) from 12 April 1996 or before 1 July 1996 whichever occurs first.

Background:  AlliedSignal has advised that internal cracks in the fuel manifold hose assemblies, caused by a defective manufacturing process by one vendor, have developed leaks.

The action mandated in this AD is to remove the suspect fuel manifold assemblies and install serviceable parts in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements.

This amendment extends the range of applicability by including reference to another manufacturer's service bulletin on the same subject.
