COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 106 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY
SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AlliedSignal (Garrett/AiResearch) Turbine Engines - TPE 331 Series
AD/TPE 331/43
Amdt 2
Fuel Manifold Assembly P/N 3102469-2 6/96
Applicability: TPE331-8,-10-11 and -12 Series Engines as listed in Allied-Signal Aerospace Company (Garrett Engine Division) Alert Service Bulletin TPE-A73-0198 Revision 1 dated 10 January 1992.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the requirements of Allied-Signal Aerospace Company (Garrett Engine Division) Alert Service Bulletin TPE-A73-0198 Revision 1 dated 10 January 1992.
Note 1: FAA AD 93-02-01 refers and supersedes FAA AD 92-02-19.
Note 2: AD/TPE 331/51 refers for TPE331-1 through -6 and -14 series engines.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished, within the next 50 hours time in service after 23 May 1996 for installed engines and before installation of ECUs or replacement fuel manifold assemblies.
Background: The initial issue of this AD was based on FAA AD 92-02-19 which required removal of Stratoflex manifold assemblies carrying certain data on identification tags, and of manifolds which did not have identification tags.
Since the issue of AD 92-02-19, the FAA has established that affected fuel manifold assemblies that do not have identification tags were manufactured before the time period of the suspect items. The FAA has therefore deleted these manifolds from the requirement.
This amendment makes reference to AD/TPE 331/51 which addresses the same subject for other TPE 331 engine models.
Amendment 1 became effective on 27 May 1993.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive was 31 January 1992.
