Applicability: The following listed Garrett Model engines which have rear turbine oil supply tube Pt. No. 3102123-1 fitted and which are not in compliance with BAe MOD JM 7388 TPE 331-10UF-501H, -511H, -512H, -513H TPE 331-10UR-513H.
Requirement: PART 1 - Inspect for adequate clearance between oil supply tube PT. No. 3102123-1 and bleed air cooler in accordance with British Aerospace Alert SB 71-A-JM 7418 Part A.
PART 2 - Modify in accordance with BAe Alert SB 71-A-JM 7418 Part B. Garrett Turbine Engine Company SB TPE 331-79-0013 refers, or AD/AIR-T/50
Compliance: PART 1 - Unless already accomplished, within 50 hours time in service after 30 June 1984 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 400 hours time in service until modified.
PART 2 - Prior to 31 August 1984.
Note: For aircraft/engine combinations incorporating BAe MOD No. JM 7388 compliance with this Directive is not applicable.
Background: Chafing of oil supply tube could lead to loss of oil and subsequent engine failure.
