Oil Cooler Interference 10/96
Applicability: TBM 700 aircraft serial numbers 63, 68 to 71, 74, 76 to 106 and 108.
Requirement: To prevent interference between the oil cooler outlet protective screen and the oil cooler core resulting in an engine oil leak, modify the oil cooler in accordance with Socata TBM 700 Aircraft Service Bulletin Number SB 70-060-79 Amendment 1.

Compliance: Effective 12 September 1996; unless previously accomplished in accordance with the original issue of this directive, before further flight.
Background: This directive was originally issued in July 1995 to require a modification of the oil cooler installation. The modification addressed reports of a possible oil leak developing if interference existed between the oil cooler core and the oil cooler outlet protective screen. This amendment reflects the manufacturer's revision to the requirement document. The revision, in part, clarifies the aircraft applicable and that the protective screen is to be removed permanently.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 22 June 1995.
