Stabilator - Inspection/Replacement and Rear Fuselage Modification

Applicability: All model TB9 and TB10 aircraft with serial numbers up to and including 274 which have not been modified in accordance with Rallye TB SB No. 15 GR. 55-09.
Requirement: 1. Remove the tail cone and inspect the stabilator spar for fatigue cracks in the region of the lower attachment bolts for the two centre hinge brackets, as shown in Rallye TB No. 14 GR.55-08. It is recommended that a visual inspection using a 10X glass, or a dye penetrant inspection, should be performed.
Note: If removal of paint and/or anodised layer is necessary, it is recommended that solvent and/or fine emery paper be used, rather than “pickling” or “vapour blasting” as specified in the above TB SB.
2. Replace the stabilator, and modify the rear fuselage, in accordance with Rallye SB TB No. 15 FR.55-09.
Compliance: For Para. 1 - As detailed in TB SB No. 14 GR.55-08. For Para. 2 - As detailed in TB SB No. 15 GR.55-09.
