SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Rolls Royce Turbine Engines - Tay Series

AD/TAY/7 LPT Disc Corrosion - Inspection 12/2002

Applicability: Rolls Royce Tay 650 series engines listed by serial numbers in the requirement document.

Requirement: Action per LBA (Deutschland) AD 2002-287.

Note: LBA ( Deutschland) AD 2002-287 refers.

Compliance: Initial inspection is to be carried out within 11700 flight cycles since new of LPT disc Stage 2 and Stage 3 and thereafter at intervals not greater than 11700 flight cycles.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 November 2002.

Background: Operation of the engines listed in this directive in adverse environment has resulted in corrosion with potential for uncontained disc failures. Inspection mandated by this directive ensures continued airworthiness.
