SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226 and SA227 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/SWSA226/66 Nose Wheel Steering System 8/93

Applicability: Models SA227-TT, SA227-AT, SA227-AC, and SA227-BC that have the nose wheel steering system modified in accordance with Fairchild Service Bulletin 227-32-030; and Model SA227-DC with serial numbers 784, and 790 through 825.

 

Requirement: A Flight Manual Amendment is to be obtained from a District Airworthiness Office for placement into the Limitations Section of the Flight Manual; in order to incorporate the following nose wheel steering system limitations:

 

  1. Check the nose wheel steering prior to each takeoff using the procedures in the Normal Procedures section of the Flight Manual.

 

b.    The use of nose wheel steering for takeoff and landing is prohibited. Prior to each takeoff, turn the nose wheel arm switch to “OFF”, and do not turn to “ON” until after landing and the aircraft has slowed to taxi speed.
