Propeller Governor Arm - Inspection and Replacement

Applicability: S205 Series aircraft with S/Nos. up to and including 5-406, and S208 Series aircraft with S/Nos. up to and including 4-64.
Requirement: Inspect the propeller governor arm in accordance with SIAI MARCHETTI Service Bulletin 205B43A.
Fitment of steel governor arm, P/No. 260-13-274-01, as per paragraph “C” of SB 205B43A is terminating action for this Directive.
Note: Italian AD 77-222 also refers.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished, within 25 hours time in service from 10 November 1994, and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 50 hours time in service.
Background: Cracking of the propeller governor arm has been reported.
Failure of the governor arm will result in loss of propeller control.
This AD has been revised to clarify aircraft model applicability and re-formatted per the latest requirements.
