SAAB SF340 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/SF340/12 Air Conditioning System Couplings 1/89

Applicability: Model SF 340A with serial numbers -003 through -138.

 

Requirement: 1. Action in accordance with SAAB Service Bulletin No SF 340-21-022, Accomplishment Instruction (C) (1), (2), and (3).

 

2. Action in accordance with SAAB SB No SF 340-21-022, Accomplishment Instruction No C (4).

 

Note: Swedish AD No 1-029 refers.

 

Compliance: 1. At the next B - check after 26 January 1989.

 

2. (a) At the next B - check after 26 January 1989; and

 

(b) any time a Gamah coupling is subsequently removed and installed.

 

Background:  Bleed air leakage in the ACM compartment caused by “Gamah” type coupling separation has resulted in structural damage due to overheated panels with resultant bonding separation between stringers and skin panel.
