AD/SEATS/12 Aviointeriors/Alven Seats - Seat Belt Attachment Misalignment

Applicability: All AVIOINTERIORS/ALVEN seats with seat belt attachment P/N 310434800000 and/or P/N 3104348A0000.

 

Requirement: 1. Inspect the seat belt attachments for integrity and deformation in accordance with paragraph 4 of Aviointeriors Service Bulletin SB000128 dated November 26, 1997.

 

2.    Modify the seat belt attachments by installing tie wraps in accordance with paragraph 5.1 of SB000128 referenced above.

 

3.    Modify the seat belt attachments in accordance with paragraph 5.2 of SB000128, to limit the angular movement. This is terminating action for paragraph 2 above.

Compliance: 1. Before 26 September 1998.

 

2.    Before 26 September 1998, and thereafter replace the tie wraps at intervals not greater than 12 months.

 

3.    Before 26 September 2000.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 26 March 1998.

 

Background: Overseas reports of damage to the seat belt attachment due to misalignment have been received by the seat manufacturer.
