Requirement: Replace the leg collars in accordance with Sicma Aero Seat SB 95-25-003.
Note: DGAC AD 97-134(AB) refers.
Compliance: Before 18 September 1997.
This airworthiness directive becomes effective on 6 August 1997 for Qantas and Ansett Australia, and 11 September for all other operators of this equipment.
Background: The seat manufacturer advised that a different anti corrosion treatment was used on the affected leg collars and that treatment may cause the collars not to meet the seat structural certification requirement. The manufacturer has advised that Ansett Australia is the only known operator in Australia.
