SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

 

Short SD3-30 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/SD3-30/42 Electrical Wiring and Hydraulic Pipelines 7/2001

 

Applicability: All SD3-30 aeroplanes.

 

Requirement: 1. Inspect electrical wiring harnesses and the hydraulic pipelines servicing the 7P panel for fouling and, if necessary, re-route the wiring harnesses, install additionally supporting clips and sleeving in accordance with Bombardier Aerospace, Short Brothers PLC Service Bulletin (SB) SD330-24-29 dated 30 April 2001.

 

2. If adequate clearance between the harnesses and the main pressure hydraulic pipeline cannot be achieved during the Requirement 1 re-routing of the electrical wiring harnesses, replace the pipeline with new rerouted pipeline in accordance with SB SD330-24-29.

 

Note: This Service Bulletin has been classified as mandatory by the CAA(UK).

 

Compliance:  For Requirement 1 - At the next ‘B’ Check, but no later than 90 days after the effective date of this Directive.

 

For Requirement 2 - Before further flight, after completion of Requirement 1 This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 12 July 2001.

Background:  This Directive is intended to ensure that adequate clearance exists between electrical wiring and pipelines containing combustible fluids. These measures are designed to reduce the likelihood of fouling and/or chaffing, with the resultant risk of an in-flight fire.
