Short SC7 (Skyvan) Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/SC7/22 Main Landing Gear Brake Flange 10/95

Applicability: Skyvan MK 3, 3A, 3M, and Skyliner series aeroplanes.

 

Requirement: Inspect, using the fluorescent penetrant method, the main landing gear brake flanges in accordance with Dowty Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) 32-10M, Revision 3.

 

Note: CAA (UK) AD 017-12-81 refers.

 

Compliance: Before the thresholds specified in Dowty MSB 32-10M, Revision 3 or before 17 September 1995, whichever occurs later.

 

Re-inspect at intervals not to exceed 1000 landings.

 

Background:  Dowty has completed a fatigue analysis of the main landing gear and inspections of the brake flange are required to take advantage of the increase in service life which resulted.
