Eurocopter AS 332 (Super Puma) Series Helicopters

Lucas Air Equipment Hoists - Explosive Squib 3/93
Applicability: All Super Puma helicopters listed in the requirement documents with the following Lucas Air Equipment hoists fitted:
Part Number 76365 (all serial numbers),
Part Number 76368 (serial numbers up to and including 99), and Part Number 76360 (serial numbers lower than 691).
Requirement: 1. For Hoist Part Numbers 76365 and 76368 action in accordance with Aerospatiale Telex No 10265.INF/332/55 dated 28 November 1991 (Eurocopter France AS 332 Service Bulletin No 01.33).
2. For Hoist Part Number 76360 action in accordance with Eurocopter France AS 332 Service Bulletin No 25-56 dated 5 October 1992.
Compliance: The compliance of the original issue of this Directive was prior to next hoisting mission after 3 December 1991 where a pyrotechnic squib is installed, (AD/SUPP/12 also relates), but no later than 31 January 1992.
This compliance of this issue is as follows:
Installed Hoists - Prior to the first hoisting mission after 4 March 1993, where a pyrotechnic squib is installed, but no later than 30 April 1993.
Spare Hoists - Prior to installation.
Note: Prior compliance with the original issue of this Directive is considered terminating acting for helicopters fitted with either part number 76365 or 76368 hoists.
Background: Aerospatiale have advised that the possibility exists that the hoist squib may be incorrectly connected. Compliance with this Directive is necessary in order to ensure that the squib will fire correctly when required. This amendment is issued to include an additional hoist part number, an additional requirement to check spare hoists and to correctly identify the original Requirement Document.
