AD/ROBIN/9 Rudder Bar Assembly Welds 4/86

Applicability: All Models.

 

Requirement: Inspect by dye penetrant, the left and right rudder bar assembly welds for cracking, (ref. Robin Spare Parts Manual, plate 7, page 18, items 1 and 2). At the junctions of the vertical tubes to the horizontal tubes.

 

Compliance: Within 25 hours time in service after 26 February 1986 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service or at the next scheduled inspection for maintenance release issue, whichever is the later, until reinforced to a scheme approved by the Secretary.

 

Background:  The Department has received a report of a rudder bar failure at the vertical tube to horizontal tube weld.
