Amdt 1

Applicability: All model 2160.


Engine Mount 4/87

 

Requirement: 1. Carry out a close visual inspection of the engine mount in the area of the vibration isolator brackets for cracks in the welded isolator/tube attachment.

 

2. Modify the engine mount in accordance with a scheme approved by the Secretary.

 

Note: Avions Pierre Robin Inc. Canada. Plan 51-40-30 “Reinforcement of Engine Mount Vibration Isolator Brackets” is an acceptable scheme.

 

Compliance: 1. At each daily inspection until modified.

 

2. Modify within 100 hours time in service after 30 November 1983.

 

Note: This inspection may be accomplished by the pilot-in-command, in which case the precise AD reference shall be entered in a certification made on the Maintenance Release coincident with that for the daily inspection.

 

Background: Instances of engine mount cracking have been reported. This amendment clarifies the termination of the daily inspection by modification.
